Curriculum
І level
- Lectures – review of: History and identity of Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church;
Role of the laity in the Church; Personality development: understanding the aspect of serving the community and the Church
- Meetings with guest speakers – reflecting with interesting personalities on their experiences of serving the community and the Church
- Trainings – development of individual and leadership skills
- Spiritual program – assessing an individual’s own spirituality (private consultations with priests) and participating in the Christian community
(Daily Liturgy, evening prayers)
- Entertainment – socializing, recreation activities, forum for sharing individual talents
ІІ level
- Local projects – development of projects by participants for implementation in their own local communities
- Projects Summary Conference – graduates return to gather and share their experiences in implementing projects in local communities
Participants of Lay Leaders Summer School
are active young people (age: 18- 35)
Number of participants is limited - 25
Note: Lay Leaders Summer School, started in 2003, is a two-week long educational program that brings together young laity from all over Ukraine -- and even from abroad -- to study, share talents, exchange ideas and experiences.
An Alumni Association was formed in 2006 and presently numbers over 175 members. They continue to improve their knowledge and skills by attending seminars, conferences and master-classes organized by the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM). They also have the opportunity to realize their ideas and practice their skills as trainers in various ILM projects.
