On December 10, 2011 in the youth center of Sambir-Drohobych eparchy of UGCC the trainers of the Institute of Leadership and Management together with young people were talking about leadership and effective team-work.

On December 1, a representative of International department of Charitable foundation "Caritas Germany" Joerg Kaiser and a president of "Caritas Ukraine" Andriy Waskowycz paid a visit to Ukrainian Catholic University.

The purpose of their visit was to learn more about UCU activities and to discuss the work of the Institute of Leadership and Management. Due to the financial support of Caritas Germany a one year certificate program in Non-profit management is being implemented for a second year already.

During November 8 -14, 2011 representatives of the Institute of leadership and management visited several non-profit organizations in Saint-Petersburg, Russia.

The Institute’s director Natalia Bordun and coordinator of the Programs in Non-profit management Natalia Mysula studied the experience of the Center for Development of Non-commercial Organizations in Saint-Petersburg.

On October 18 Institute of Leadership and Management hosted visitors from NGOs of Moldova that arrived for sharing experiences and learning more about Ukrainian NGOs.

The visit was possible within the project “Strengthening of potential of NGOs of Moldova by cooperation with Polish and Ukrainian NGOs”.

On October 25 a new Program of Non-Profit Management will be opened with the lecture of Lesia Orobets "Effective NGOs as a key factor of systematic changes in Ukraine".

Lesia Orobets is an active public figure, deputy of the Supreme Council of Ukraine, member of the Education and Science committee of the SC.

In July 17-23 Summer Trainers School for the graduates of Lay Leadership Summer Schools of 2003-2010 will take place in spiritual youth center in Novoyavorivsk.

For 8 years (2003-2010) the Institute of Leadership and Management (previously Lay Leadership Center) had been organizing Lay Leadership Summer School – two weeks program for young laity. During this School young people had a possibility to gain knowledge on contemporary religious and social issues, to develop their skills of team working, decision-making, planning, conflict-solving etc. During these years School had 200 graduates from eparchies of Ukrainian Greek catholic Church not only in Ukraine but in Kazakhstan and Poland.

On June 23, 2011 the ILM representatives took part in the I Regional Fair of the Institutional Development in Khmelnytskyy.

More than 50 NGOs from western and central part of Ukraine took part in this event. By communicating with participants we came to the conclusion that they were mostly young recently registered NGOs. Most of them admitted that they really lack knowledge to effectively manage their organizations. Those people are full of energy and inspiration to change the society for better and learn something new. And this gives hope.
